Connor Moss, LMFT

If you’re looking for a therapist, it might be because:

  • You are dealing with difficult or overwhelming emotions

  • You feel lost and unsure how to move forward in your life

  • You have been struggling with addiction, depression, trauma/ptsd, or other psychological challenges

  • You are feeling disconnected from your spouse or partner and you want to improve your connection and communication

  • You are looking for a safe, neutral space to unpack your thoughts and feelings

Everyone faces painful and challenging experiences in their lives. At times, life can feel alienating or confusing, and many people reach a point where going it alone no longer feels possible. Reaching out for help is an important and courageous step in the healing process.

Psychotherapy offers a space to be heard and understood. Many people find that by speaking their experience out loud to another person, they gain new perspectives and insights that wouldn’t emerge on their own. Working with a therapist who listens deeply and strives to understand your unique experience can be a liberating and transformative experience.

My name is Connor Moss, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I earned my master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and have been practicing psychotherapy since 2018. I actively pursue ongoing education, consultation, supervision, and study with colleagues, experienced and respected therapists in the field, and with the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.

I primarily practice contemporary psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy with individuals and couples. These approaches offer a creative and engaged quality of listening and exploration, helping you examine your experience in new ways and create meaningful, lasting change.

Psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy are evidence-based treatments with extensive research supporting their effectiveness. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)

Some benefits of psychoanalytic psychotherapy include:

  • Greater self-understanding and insight

  • A greater degree of freedom in your response to life’s challenges

  • Understanding and breaking free of repetitive patterns in your relationships

  • A greater ability to be present in the moment

  • Building deeper, more meaningful connections with others

  • Healing old psychological wounds or traumas

  • Developing healthier coping mechanisms beyond reliance on drugs, alcohol, sex, and pornography.

  • Experiencing more aliveness, spontaneity, and freedom in how you express yourself and live your life
